Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric
At Woodbine Toyota, we’re proud to showcase the future of Toyota’s electrified innovation — Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs). These cutting-edge vehicles run on hydrogen, using advanced fuel cell technology to generate clean electricity while emitting only water vapour. With no plug-in charging required and absolutely no tailpipe emissions, FCEVs deliver a refined, quiet, and sustainable driving experience like no other.
What Are Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs)?
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) are a unique type of electric vehicle that create their own electricity using hydrogen, rather than depending on plug-in charging. Within the vehicle, hydrogen from the onboard tank combines with oxygen from the air inside a fuel cell stack, generating electricity to power the motor. The only emission produced is water vapour, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions.
Refuelling is quick and convenient—taking about five minutes—and can deliver up to 647 km of driving range (based on Toyota Mirai estimates).
For over two decades, Toyota has been at the forefront of electrified mobility, and now, its hydrogen fuel cell technology marks the next big step in zero-emission driving. Choosing a Toyota FCEV means opting for a vehicle that’s not only efficient and innovative but also built with the legendary reliability Toyota is famous for.
Here’s why more drivers are making the switch:
Zero Emissions
The only byproduct is water vapour, ensuring every drive is clean and eco-friendly.
Long Driving Range
Travel up to 647 km (Toyota Mirai estimate) on a single tank of hydrogen, giving you the freedom to go farther.
Advanced Safety
Features like reinforced hydrogen tanks, advanced fuel cell design, and standard Toyota Safety Sense™ technologies provide peace of mind on every journey.
